There’s a simple yet profound truth in the biblical verse: “Freely you have received; freely give” (Matthew 10:8). It’s a reminder that the gifts we hold—love, wisdom, grace, understanding—were never meant to be hoarded or hidden. They were given to us freely, and we are called to extend them just as freely to others.
This same principle echoes throughout A Course in Miracles, which teaches that giving and receiving are one in truth (ACIM, W-108). In the divine economy of Spirit, there is no loss in giving. Rather, giving is how we know we have something to give. When we extend love, peace, or forgiveness, we experience those very gifts within ourselves.
“What you give you give to yourself.” (ACIM, T-5.I.3:9)
“Giving is how you learn that you have everything.” (T-4.IV.7:4)
These ideas are not just theoretical—they are the heartbeat of our own journey. In March, despite the fact that after nearly two years, our publishing business has yet to turn a profit, we made all the Kindle versions of our books available for free on Amazon. Almost 600 readers from around the world took advantage of this offer.
In February, we held a book signing and giveaway at a local assisted living facility, where we distributed paperback copies of all the books we had at the time.
These actions weren’t driven by a business plan or marketing strategy—they came from a simple desire to give back, to share what had been freely given to us. Many of the ideas for my books and essays have come from dreams, quiet reflections, and the gentle whisper of inspiration in the waking hours. These insights felt like gifts—freely received, and so, they must be freely given.
All of our essays are available to read or download from our website: DinoJamesBooks.com. We invite you to explore them—not as polished teachings from a spiritual guru, but as offerings from a fellow traveler on the path, someone who has received much and simply wishes to pass it along.
My wealth is not measured in material things or sales figures, but in what is eternal—my growing understanding of A Course in Miracles, and the joy of sharing what I have learned. My greatest treasure is the love and unwavering support of my wife, Cherie.
With this, what else is there to desire?
As A Course in Miracles gently reminds us:
“Teach only love, for that is what you are.” (T-6.I.13:2)
And as the Bible echoes:
“Freely you have received; freely give.”
This is the invitation for all of us: to open our hearts, share what we have, and remember that in giving, we receive.
Peace and Love,
