About Our Company and Writers

Dino James Books, LLC

In the New York Metropolitan area, where the pulse of creativity beats its strongest, a tale of late-blooming success unfolds. It begins with Robert Dino James Sears, a man whose life had taken him down many roads before he found his latest calling…

Robert had always been a man of many talents, his life a patchwork of experiences woven together by threads of passion and curiosity. From his youthful aspiration of spinning vinyls as a hopeful DJ in the vibrant 1960s to multiple and varied ventures into diverse careers, Robert lived a life rich with stories waiting to be told.

But it wasn’t until June of 2023, at the seasoned age of 80, that Robert decided to embark on a new journey—to share his wealth of experiences with the world. Armed with a vision and a lifetime of acquired knowledge, he wrote his first book and founded Dino James Books, LLC, a publishing brand that would become his legacy.

The name “Dino James” held a special place in Robert’s heart, stemming from his DJ aspirations when he first adopted the moniker for an audition at a local rock radio station in Mount Kisco, NY.  Back then, it was a symbol of youthful ambition and musical passion. Now, it would become the emblem of his literary endeavors, a nod to the vibrant spirit that still burned within him.

With a focus on non-fiction, Dino James Books delved into the realms of inspiration and personal growth. Robert drew from his own varied “careers” throughout life, mining the depths of his experiences as a traveler, a businessman, a philosopher, and more. Each book is a testament to the lessons learned, the challenges overcome, and the wisdom gained along the way.

As of this writing, the shelves of Dino James Books boast three published works, each a gem of insight and reflection. Yet, the story was far from over. With six more titles eagerly awaiting their turn for publication in 2024, Robert continues to weave his tales, his passion for storytelling undiminished by the passage of time.

Through Dino James Books, Robert Dino James Sears had found a new voice—a voice that resonated with readers young and old, inspiring them to embrace their own journeys, no matter where life had taken them. And in this late bloom of creativity, Robert found not just success but a profound sense of purpose that illuminated the path ahead.

Robert D Sears (aka Dino James)

Robert D. Sears (Lt Col, CAP, USAF Aux.) boasts a rich service history stemming from his dedication to the Civil Air Patrol (CAP). Starting as a 1st Lt in the mid-1960s to early 1970s, he commanded a Composite Squadron in Peekskill, NY, igniting his …

passion for leadership. After over four decades, he rekindled this passion in 2013.

Robert’s journey is marked by a profound dedication to service and a diverse range of experiences. Following a pause of over four decades, Robert returned to CAP in 2013, reigniting his passion for service. Today, he is Deputy Commander of Inland Empire Group 3, California Wing, where he continues to inspire and lead with his wealth of experience and knowledge.

Beyond his contributions to CAP, Robert has ventured into various fields throughout his career. He embarked on a career in Financial Planning, starting within a company offering a limited family of mutual funds. Recognizing the need to broaden his horizons, he became a branch manager at a securities firm, expanding his focus to encompass a wider range of financial products.

Robert’s expertise continued to evolve as he delved into life insurance products and annuities. His commitment to excellence led him to achieve certification as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a testament to his dedication to providing top-notch financial guidance to his clients.

An adept public speaker, Robert took to libraries in Westchester County, New York, to promote his financial planning services. Operating from a home office, he, alongside his first wife, Marilyn, who served as administrator, created the “Financial Planning Suite, Inc.” This comprehensive service covered investments, insurance, estate planning, and more, showcasing Robert’s holistic approach to financial planning.

In 1990, after a successful career in Financial Planning, Robert passed on his thriving company to a protégé. His clientele spanned the entire northeast corridor and Florida, a testament to his reputation and the trust he garnered from those he served.

Post-retirement, Robert continued to share his wealth of knowledge and skills with others. He dedicated several years to teaching “A Course in Miracles” and

instructing SCUBA diving students, showcasing his passion for education and adventure.

Robert’s talents extended to the skies as well, certified as a Flight Instructor across various categories from 1971 to 1996. Combining his love for flying with his dedication to volunteerism, he became an instructor for Cadets with the Civil Air Patrol, imparting valuable lessons to the next generation of leaders.

Now in his 80s, Robert faces challenges stemming from radiation treatment for tonsillar cancer in 2008. Despite these obstacles, he has channeled his passion for communication into a new medium—the written word.

As the primary writer and owner of Dino James Books, LLC, operating under his occasional pen name, Dino James, Robert enjoys engaging with readers through his written works. His publishing brand offers a diverse range of books, reflecting his varied interests and experiences.

Cherie S Tucker

Cherie’s journey through life has been a diverse one, marked by adventures and endeavors that speak volumes of her spirit. From owning and running a restaurant in the wilderness of Oregon’s Mt. Hood during her first marriage to managing an office …

for neurosurgeons in Monterey, California, she has worn many hats with grace and determination. A move to Laguna Beach saw her starting a successful medical transcription and billing company while supporting her German husband’s bakery—a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit.

Cherie S Tucker’s life has been a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of community service, sportsmanship, and a deep love for nature. Her journey began in the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), where she dedicated an astounding 40 years of her life. Starting as a coach for 6 and 7-year-old boys, Cherie’s commitment led her to don various hats within the organization. Her rise culminated in the role of National Executive Director, overseeing an impressive 500,000 players and 200,000 volunteers. Along the way, she served as National Secretary and chaired the Educational Commission, pioneering a groundbreaking training and certification program—a first among youth sports organizations. Her illustrious service was honored with induction into the AYSO Soccer Hall of Fame in 2009, a testament to her unwavering dedication.

Later in life, Hawaii beckoned, where Cherie spent three years of “extended vacations” teaching business management classes at Maui Community College. All this while, amidst her extensive travels for AYSO, Cherie has remained an avid gardener, nurturing abundant fruit trees and vegetables that fill the kitchens of family and neighbors alike. Her love for orchids blossomed after her children left home, and her garden has always been a sanctuary for a myriad of creatures—from butterflies to hummingbirds, mantids, hawks, and nesting turtledoves.

It was amidst this garden oasis that Cherie and Robert had their first encounter with a Monarch caterpillar, a serendipitous moment that sparked their journey into butterfly conservation. Their home, surrounded by a symphony of blooms and buzzing life, continues to be a haven for these delicate creatures. As they embark on this new chapter, Cherie and Robert invite others to join them in their mission, weaving together a legacy of service, passion, and the profound beauty of nature’s wonders.

Today, Cherie, alongside her spouse of six years, Robert, forms a retired couple with a wealth of experience in volunteer management, bringing insights that enrich the fabric of community engagement. But their story doesn’t end there.

In their later years, Cherie and Robert have embraced a new passion: the delicate dance of monarch butterflies. Together, they have devoted themselves to raising these majestic creatures, releasing countless into the world. Their book, “Raising Monarchs from Egg to Butterfly,” is a poignant narrative that blends personal anecdotes, scientific insights, and practical guidance for fellow enthusiasts eager to join their mission. From the tender care of monarch eggs to the breathtaking moment of their first flight, Sears and Tucker offer a comprehensive guide for those invested in the restoration of the monarch population. It’s a final, heartfelt effort to inspire hope and action for the future of these incredible butterflies.
