There comes a point on the path—not always marked with ceremony or clarity—when the inward journey of awakening meets the outward experience of daily life. After all the reading, praying, contemplating, forgiving, and unlearning… comes this simple question: Now what?

We are still here. Still in the world of appearances. Still seeing bills, traffic lights, headlines, and people who cut in line. And so the invitation becomes not just to awaken from the dream, but to live awake within it.

The Course tells us, “I can choose peace instead of this.” And that line—soft as a whisper, yet thunderous in power—becomes a daily practice. Not once, but over and over again. In every judgment, we can choose again. In every moment of fear, we can return to love. We are not here to fix the world but to see it differently.

That’s the shift. Not from pain to pleasure, but from confusion to clarity. From reaction to remembrance. From being at the mercy of the world, to being in service to the Light that never left us.

Living with light in the world doesn’t mean we float through life like enlightened clouds. We still forget. We still get angry. But we remember sooner. We return quicker. And we judge less. That is the gift. That is the practice. That is the purpose.

We are teachers of God—not because we are perfect, but because we are willing. We are choosing again… and again… and again.

And each time we do, we light the way for someone else.

“I am here only to be truly helpful.
I am here to represent Him who sent me.
I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do,
because He Who sent me will direct me.
I am content to be wherever He wishes,
knowing He goes there with me.
I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal.”

Let this be our commitment. Not to change the world, but to change our mind about the world. That is how we live with Light.
