After the Flash
A Spiritual Mystery of Fear, Perception, and Awakening
by Robert D Sears
Synopsis
A BRILLIANT WHITE FLASH.
No sound. No impact. No warning.
Danie wakes in a small hospital ward expecting the aftermath of nuclear war. Elena is alive. He is uninjured. There are no alarms, no frantic doctors, no screams. Then a physician examines his eyes and says something that freezes him in place:
“I’m surprised you can still see.”
Daniel knows exactly what that means. Nuclear flash.
But when he asks what city was hit, no one understands the question. When he asks how many people were killed, the nurse seems confused by the word. Outside, there are no ruins, soldiers, police, advertisements, locks, or obvious poverty. People look different, yet no one assigns meaning to race, nationality, religion, class, or political identity.
Everyone is calm.
Daniel is terrified.
He becomes convinced that the survivors are being deceived, drugged, manipulated, or imprisoned inside some vast experiment. Then he meets one man who remembers the old world: war, money, governments, borders, hatred, disease, and fear.
At last, someone sane.
Until the man says, “None of it ever happened.”
What begins as a post-nuclear mystery becomes a deeper journey into perception, identity, judgment, and the possibility that the world we call normal may be the strangest world of all.
AFTER THE FLASH is a spiritual mystery for readers willing to ask one dangerous question:
Did Daniel and Elena survive the end of the world, or awaken from it?
